As incoming freshman come into their first year in college/university already determined to become the next U.S. Senator or leading cardiothoracic surgeon, there is a pulsing pressure on what they should major in. Fortunately, students can enter a university under an "exploratory" major where they will decide towards the end of their freshman year on what they would like to major in. Even yet, this approach has not been able to meet many undecided students into concluding their career path, aka major. According to UF's Academic Advising Center, about 38% of UF students change their major at the culmination of their freshman year while 61% of UF students change their major by the end of the sophomore year. This indecisiveness not only impacts a student time wise but also financially into taking courses that may not be useful for their desired major as well as take time from possible internships they could be in. I don't consider myself an entrepreneur, but I have had an experience last summer during Catalyst where my team designed a testing kit to test the Mercury levels in fish for both consumption and packaging. Our testing kit incorporated already made products into a more reachable use for consumers of raw fish especially for pregnant women who lack fatty acids in their diet. Our testing kit required a three-step process: IN-OUT-SWAB, where a simple prick on the fish will leave an opening just enough to swab a metal strip test to swab it and in just 3 seconds you can see the concentration level of mercury found in that current fish.  I enrolled in ENT3003 because it is a requirement for my Innovation minor. However, I really do enjoy coming to lectures and hearing on the applicability of Entrepreneurship into my own career path as there is always room for more in the medical field. I hope to start applying the simple mindset found in entrepreneurship into making decisions...

1.      In between my classes, the Starbucks line is constantly filled and I’ll wait a good 30 minutes from waiting both before and after ordering. This bug happens because it’s the first few weeks of the semester, many students try to get “ahead” or on top of things including getting Starbucks and they aren’t breaking yet. 2.      Every time I go out to take out the trash, there isn’t a recycling bin after I’ll make a separate pile for just recycling in my room.
