15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2
1) Interviews conducted:
Sophomore, Business Administration
Junior, Neuroscience, Pre-Med Track
Freshman, Nutrition Major, Pre-Pharm Track
3) After the interviews conducted, quality was the overall important leading factor into knowing whether or not this would be worth their time. Price was another factor but was only mentioned by two interviewees but only asked if there were outrageous fees, and there wouldn't be any. Quantity is another factor such as dealing with how many resources are there per major in order to fully get a glimpse of what the majors would entitle.
4) The opportunity would be an application where it'll be portable and easily accessible to all students and incoming students with a one-time fee.
5) They want to know that what they're paying for is what they'll get. They want to be sure when deciding on their major and for sure will want to be sure when deciding whether or not to invest a little into their decision. Pressure from feeling the need to decide as soon as possible will lead them into buying or wasting their time on products they do not need.
6) All three interviewees agreed on quality and effectiveness are the leading factors into this opportunity. They all curiously suggested to have the app be available before coming into their freshman year so they can already get started on networking and an idea of what classes to expect from their major of interest.
7) This segment allows me to make huge adjustments towards fitting this product around the customer's unmet needs and possible wanted needs. The purchase decision revolves around whether or not this opportunity serves as an investment for their benefit or a simple waste of time.
I think an app would be a great idea. Something that would help you connect with other students and get a feel for what their majors are like and what kinds of classes they are taking. It would also be effective in forming study groups and talking about internship opportunities. The benefits of an app like this would go a long way for students at UF.
